In accordance with the Civil Defense Act, the Montreal Executive Committee extended the state of emergency for the demolition of Montreal on December 26 for five days.
The declared state of emergency on March 27 gave the city a unique opportunity to respond to the current epidemic in its area. In particular, it provides the resources and manpower needed to fight civil society COVID-19:
Montréal is working with the Emergency Response Coordination Unit to combat the spread of COVID-19. It works closely with experts from the local Department of Public Health and the Healthcare Network.
