Nube Negra Kempton is too fast for Altior

Nube Negra severely defeated Altior at the Ladbrokes Desert Orchid Chase in Kempton.

Nicky Henderson champion Chase Victor Altior, who left Tingle Creek earlier this season, played consistently for Nico de Boinville but ultimately did not answer Dan Skelton’s impressive victory.

In February, Harry Skelton struggled to get to the front of the Nube Negra, which did not finish second at Kingmaker in Warwick in February.

Altior has shown that there is a lot of controversy at home. His famous turbo is only as good as it gets. However, the Nube Negra has a lot of back-up and can be easily reduced. The line crosses 3-5 lines.

The 20-1 winner went on to play the Golden Ball for the Skeltons.

In Leopardstown, Willie Mullins’ Chacun Pour Soi is impressive, and she is now the 11-8 favorite for the Queen Mother Champion Chase. Nube Negra also has a 12-1 chance.

Harry Skelton told ITV Racing.

“I have always been a manager.

“We wanted to play him at Aintree last season but we didn’t get the chance. But as long as he played, he did well for the world. He was only six years old, but he is very impressive today.

“He thought a lot about him. He did not go out because he was weak, but he was strong and very good for the owner, Terry Spraggett.”
